Zi Studio explores the shifting relationships between space, objects, and people, tracing how they are formed, disrupted, and reimagined through everyday practices.
Zi Studio understands making as thinking, and design as questioning. Working across furniture, zines, photography, and installations, projects unfold through making, placing, using, and revisiting objects within everyday spaces.

A Broken Bench is a piece created during my time at the Center for Furniture Crafts. Growing up, I was often told I was clumsy and careless, and that I wasn't suited to be a craftsman. These traits, alongside my constant struggles and anxiety in the workshop, became my challenges. In fine woodworking, where every detail demands precision, I often found myself at odds with the process.
This piece, however, is a reconciliation with my past. It was inspired by the mistakes I made along the way. By embracing my carelessness and imperfections, I turned them into the very essence of this work. A Broken Bench is a reflection of accepting myself as I am, finding beauty and creativity in the flaws that once held me back.
